Ghost of Tsushima: How to Get the Best Out of the Samurai
The Ghost of Tsushima was already quite popular before the Legends update, but when new changes were introduced, the biggest of them being the co-operative multiplayer option, the players got even more motivation to play the game. Formally, it was single-player only so one could not get anyone’s help to get through challenges. However, with the introduction of the multiplayer gaming option, which has been quite successful, players are now flocking together to finally conquer all the stiff challenges. Most of them prefer the Samurai since he resembles Jin Sakai from the story.

However, the Samurai being a complicated character is difficult to master. Each gold medal group needs to have one at a minimum. Anyone who masters the elusive character can reap a lot of benefits in the challenges. Today we look at some of the tips that will help the players get the best out of the Samurai class.
 Spirit Pull
Spirit Pull is the obvious ability choice for the Samurai class. It is because of its effectiveness that even the pros at gold medal difficulty prefer to stick with it. In the two-player story modes, the healing is not easy to come by, and even the cooldown is quite short. Some even like to make use of the Explosive Blade Skill to inflict significant damage making the overall choices a deadly combination.

 Samurai Unleashed
When it comes to using the first perk point, there isn’t much debate. While a +10% option is quite tempting and one can’t be blamed for making it, it helps little in survivability and in maximizing damage. The Samurai Unleashed is a great option because it decreases the cooldowns by about 15%, which is quite significant. One must not make the mistake of believing that the decrease doesn’t seem like much, since it takes the Spirit Pull to a little over 30 seconds. Although Jin Sakai has some cool tricks up his sleeve, none of them gives him access to something like this.

 Resolve Increase
The real difference in experience becomes even more visible by looking at the choice that the pros and the beginners make for the second perk. There is nothing to be ashamed of if you as a new player have opted to increase defensive window or to hold block to deal with the arrows. However, there are ways in which one can dodge the arrows like rolling on the ground; therefore, the better option for the second perk spot is the Resolve Increase. It helps deal with the Mongols by giving more license to Heaven Strike or Hachiman’s Fury.

 The 3rd Perk
When it comes to the third perk, even the pros seem to get overwhelmed by a large number of good options. However, depending on the needs of a group one can make logical choices that align with the overall strength and weakness.

Water Weapon
The multiplayer mode has one major aspect that frustrates a lot of players, and that is the accessibility to one stance only. To be able to switch forms is essential and it’s disappointing that the players initially don’t have that option. They all are tied to different weapons in the Legend mode. Depending on the weapon, one can get access to Moon, Water and Wind stances. Prioritizing water weapons is probably the best thing to do in this case.

 Survival Over Damage
Depending too much on the Ronin can cost one at the end since they already have management difficulties to take care of and they also get cooldowns just like others. It only takes a few hits to take out the Samurai even with the best gear in the gold medal runs. So, avoid damage as much as possible and leave it for the Hunters or Assassins. One must be dedicated to increasing the chances of survival by keeping the damage at a minimum.

Strike First
One of the most common mistakes that people who are still learning make is allowing the Assassin or Hunter to take the first strikes. However, the gold medal groups are much more experienced; they know what to do. Although the two classes are good when it comes to attacking from stealth, it’s a bad strategy since the enemy units can easily find out the attacker’s position by observing the first victim. It is not possible for the groups to always re-engage enemies on the Samurai all the time. So, make the first move at the earliest. This strategy has another advantage that the Hunters and Assassins get more time to keep attacking and killing from stealth.

Hachiman’s Fury
It is hard to avoid the temptation to use Hachiman’s Fury since it is so much fun and quite powerful. It has the potential to take down three to five enemies at once. Hunters and Assassins also have attacks that can take care of the minions easily. Still, the Samurai is unique since his ultimate attack can be quite damaging even for high-value targets. Therefore, Hachiman’s Fury must be saved for a boss fight.  Even if you are a beginner, taking care of the mentioned tips can have a significant impact on your overall performance, and the Samurai class can be used to the best of its abilities. Ghosts of Tsushima’s multiplayer is fun, and it becomes even better when one makes use of the advice from the pros.
